Lost your golf ball? Perhaps it took a dive into the water - perhaps it’s in that bramble of bushes next to the 14th hole - or perhaps it’s enjoying a lengthy vacation deep in the sand trap. Whatever the situation, you can use a good golf ball retriever to get it back — and with the price of quality balls today, this is one piece of golfing equipment whose purchase you won’t have to justify to the wife!

A typical golf ball retriever includes some sort of scoop or cup mechanism located at the end of a stick or metal arm. Some models of golf ball retriever have telescoping arms, others do not retract. Some golf ball retrievers allow for the retrieval of more than one ball at a time — these are often used by management to retrieve the many balls lost in the water hazards (so they can re-sell them to you!)

Golf ball retrievers are also helpful if you need to retrieve balls that are caught in the rough, or in among thorns and brambles, or from the slopes of some sand traps. Golf ball retrievers can save your back and extend your reach, as they can extend in excess of 10 feet or more, depending on the model.

For convenient personal use, you can purchase golf ball retrievers that are very small and easily stored in your shirt pocket (they use a telescoping arm and collapse into a very small ‘package.’)

One of the most innovative golf ball retrievers on the market today is called the GetGo ball retriever. It is designed to be used from the comfort of your golf cart. It uses a specially-designed suction cup, securely anchored to the end of the shaft. You simply roll up next to your golf ball, extend the GetGo golf ball retriever, and retrieve your ball from the safety of your golf cart. The GetGo golf ball retriever is very simple in design and easy - very easy - to use. It is also very lightweight (only 6.5 oz.), making it a favorite item for the ladies and seniors. Highly recommended!

If It’s Lost, You Can Find It: Golf Ball Retrievers

You’ve heard of them — perhaps seen them in action: Those way-cool golf balls with a corporate logo or other message printed on them. You want to get some - but don’t know where to begin? We’ve created this short resource guide to help you.

What Types Of Golf Ball Imprinting Are Available?

Two types of golf ball imprinting are available: Those with a logo or company design printed across the ball face, and those incorporating a message, slogan, event name, date or name personalization. When you order golf ball imprinting from some suppliers you can also get a combo golf ball: multiple logos or multiple logo and message on each ball.

Golf Ball Imprinting: Supplier Or Manufacturer?

It is important to realize that most companies that make golf ball imprinting available are not actually making the golf balls themselves (from scratch); they are simply reselling the balls to you, after the personalization has been applied. In other words, they are not manufacturers of golf balls, simply a supplier

Smaller suppliers of golf ball imprinting services may not allow you the option of choosing which type of golf ball that will be imprinted - in fact, they may use a generic (non-branded) golf ball for fulfillment of all their orders. But may companies want to maximize the “prestige” factor by using a brand-name golf ball (such as Titleist, Wilson, Top Flite). The larger golf ball imprinting services will allow you to choose from several brands of golf balls. Having this choice also allows you to have control over your costs.

When Choosing a Supplier For Your Golf Ball Imprinting

When you choose a supplier for your golf ball imprinting, make sure that you make note if they have any minimum order requirements (most do) — it is simply ridiculous to have to order 100 dozen balls for a very small golfing event! Then you will be stuck with a lot of extra golf balls that you don’t need.

Another area to cover when choosing your golf ball imprinting supplier is the types of designs that they can accommodate when they do the printing. Can they print a logo in full color - or only one or two colors? As well, if you are going with text imprinting, how many lines of text can they print - and how many total characters maximum on each line? If you find that your slogan or message is too long, you will have to edit it so that it will fit.

Be aware that some golf ball imprinting firms may charge you an art setup fee - this is a one-time fee that will be charged to get your artwork prepared for imprinting. Usually, when you order again the following year using the same logo/artwork, you will not be charged the setup fee again.

Finally, consider turnaround time when you are choosing a golf ball imprinting company. How long will they take in fulfilling your order? In some cases, the golf ball imprinting company will need extra time to send you a copy of how the logo/design/message will look (this is called a ‘proof’) before the imprinting can begin. Allow yourself plenty of time for the company you select to actually get your golf ball imprinting done.
